Here is a screenshot of the Containers and VMs that I am currently using on my home Proxmox server.
This has become a favourite tool of mine at home because it allows me to try new systems, play around with linux machines and learn new things without having to worry about anything going wrong and if something does go drastically wrong in one of the machines that I cannot fix I simply delete and create a new one.
Currently created VMs and Containers include;
Zorin Education Linux - This is a linux distro aimed at teaching and education and figured this would be somethign fun for me and my daughter to play around with and learn and will give her a head start at school and in her future life.
Linuix Mint - Some say the go to Linux for people transitioning from Windows (I haven't played with it too much yet so I can't verify that but it looks like a good system)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux - The go to Linux distro that most enterprises and businesses use (ones that use Linux). Normalyl a paid service there is a free option available to people/developers that want to use it for themselves.Â
Linux Lite - A stripped back bare Linux distro to play with and have fun learning without needing much in terms of resources in my budget homer server
My Wazuh container - see SIEM
And a Cloudflare Tunnel container - See Network
Throughout my use of Proxmox server I have gained experience in User Account management having setup and editing the permissions of User Accounts for my niece and daughter.
This has also allowed me to gain experience in setting up virtual machines and containers with different user accounts and privileges.
It has also allowed me to gain experience in VNC and remote management systems for Operating Systems.
